Car Insurance Jaguar (Car Insurance). what was the first dirt bike ever made?what was the first dirt bike ever made? all of 'em from the Otto thingy, Daimler, Triumph, HD, etc etc - the roads were mainly unpaved both UK and US, specially rural France (de Dion though strictly a sort of carriage) so all pioneers were necessarily scramblers on dirt. I imagine the first motorcycles made were ridden more in dirt than on pavement simply because there wasn't that much pavement back then! It was an evolution I am sure, started out on dirt roads, someone got the big idea to race on a flat track, someone else thought it would be fun to throw a little bump in the mix, and the next thing you know they are doing back flips in stadiums in front of thousands of people. Jaguar . How to Replace the Headlight Bulbs on a a 1997 Honda GoldwingReplacing a motorcycle's headlight bulb can be a daunting task, especially when the motorcycle is wrapped in aerodynamic fairing, like Honda's 1997 Goldwing touring motorcycle. Just getting to the bulb, let alone changing it, appears difficult enough to drive many Goldwing owners to their local Honda dealership for service. The truth is, getting behind the fairing and replacing the bulb is easier than it seems and can be completed successfully with just a few tools. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Phillips screwdriver 10 mm socket Socket wrench H7 headlight bulb Step by Step : 1 Unseat the mirror's dust boots from the fairing-mounted bezel, pulling the rubber boots up and away from the bezel. Locate the metal trim clip on the bottom of the bezel and pull it away from the fairing. Pull the bezel away from the fairing and over the mirror until it can be removed completely. Repeat process with opposite mirror. 2 Locate the screw at the base of the mirror that secures the chrome trim piece to the fairing. Remove the screw and its washer with a Phillips screwdriver. Repeat on the other side of the motorcycle and lift the chrome trim piece upward and away from the motorcycle. 3 Locate the pair of screws that secure the air duct grill to the bottom of the headlight assembly. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver and pull the grill away from the headlight. Remove the bolts that secure the bottom of the headlight to the motorcycle using a 10 mm socket. Remove the bolts that attach the top of the headlight to the motorcycle with the socket. Pull the entire headlight assembly away from the motorcycle. 4 Unplug the affected headlight bulb's wiring socket and pull the rubber dust boot off of the back of the bulb. Squeeze the legs of the metal retaining clip together and pull it open to loosen the bulb. Remove the bulb and replace it with a new H7 bulb. Squeeze the retaining clip together and latch it into place. Push the rubber dust boot over the bulb and plug the wiring socket onto the bulb's prongs. Repeat to replace any other bulbs as needed. 5 Turn on the ignition switch and check the headlights for proper operation. Cycle between high and low beam as needed. Check the headlight bulb's wiring socket is inserted completely onto the bulb's prongs if the headlights do no operate. Turn off the ignition switch. 6 Slide the headlight assembly into the front fairing. Secure the headlight, using a 10 mm socket to insert and tighten the bolts on the top and bottom of the headlight. Reattach the air duct grill, using a Phillips screwdriver to insert and tighten both screws. 7 Slide the chrome trim piece into place, securing it to the fairing using a Phillips screwdriver to insert and tighten the screws and washers on both sides of the piece. Slide the mirror bezels over the mirror and onto the fairing, clipping the bezel into place with the metal trim clips removed in Step 1. Pull the mirror's rubber dust boots over the bezel. Tips & Warnings Don't touch the bulb with bare skin. Oils present on human skin will permanently damage a sensitive halogen headlight bulb. Wear gloves to prevent accidental contact. Jaguar . DIY CLK HeadlightsThe Mercedes-Benz CLK is available in coupe and convertible form; it's a sporty two-door. The CLK's body style does not affect the headlight replacement procedure; it's the same for the coupe and the convertible. Do-it-yourself headlight replacement on the CLK is a fairly straightforward task, especially considering that no tools are necessary. The DIY replacement procedure is not applicable to models equipped with Bi-Xenon headlights; according to the CLK owner's manual, you should let your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer replace those lights. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Bulb H7 or H7-LL Paper towel or lint-free cloth Step by Step : 1 Turn your headlight level dial to "0." This dial is located to the left of your steering wheel. Turn the ignition off and open the hood. 2 Access the rear part of the headlight lens. You'll find two black covers. The outside large cover is for the low-beam bulb; the inside small cover is for the high-beam bulb. 3 Remove the black cover associated with the headlight you are replacing by turning it counterclockwise to twist it off. Inside, you'll see the rear part of the bulb. 4 Grasp the rear part of the bulb and turn it about 1 inch counterclockwise to release it. Pull the bulb and socket out of the socket seat. 5 Wrap the glass in a paper towel or lint-free cloth and pull the glass bulb straight away from the socket. 6 Wrap the replacement bulb in a paper towel or lint-free cloth and insert it straight onto the bulb assembly. Do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers. Oil from your fingers will damage the bulb and reduce its life precipitously. 7 Insert the bulb and socket assembly back into the hole. Gently turn it clockwise about an inch to lock it. Place the black cover back onto the access hole; twist it clockwise. Tips & Warnings Mercedes-Benz recommends using LL (Long Life) bulbs for your CLK. These instructions do not apply to Bi-Xenon headlights. If your CLK has Bi-Xenon headlights, you will see a "Danger" sticker on the headlight case. Do not mess with these headlights; let a professional handle the replacement. *If the radiator is leaking badly, see a reliable radiator repair shop (doctors aren't the only specialists, you know). Most service stations just remove the radiator and send it to radiator specialists, so you may as well go directly to the specialist yourself and discuss the matter in person. I'd much rather pay a mechanic than hang upside down in a cramped space until I can locate and replace one of these hoses. Never attempt to replace a hose connected to your air conditioner: Air conditioners and their hoses contain refrigerant under pressure that can blind you. If you have any problems with your air conditioner or its hoses, seek professional help. Buying the right hose So much for the scary stuff. Before you can replace a hose, you need to go to an auto supply store and buy the proper type, diameter, and length for your vehicle. If possible, check the new hose that you buy against your old hose before removing the old one from the radiator. If the hose does not seem to be the Jaguar . Why do cars bump against each other?

If you have another way of getting to the auto supply store, just remove the hose, following the instructions later in this section, and take it with you so that the auto supply store can match it. If you must drive your car, here's how find the right hose without a sample on hand: If it's a top radiator hose; Don't get a radiator hose that has wire inside it. Radiator hoses have to bend to fit properly between the radiator and whatever they lead to. Some hoses are straight tubes, with wire coiled inside the rubber casing. These are called universal hoses; they're designed to bend to fit many cars. Often, the wire breaks or works its way through the top covering of the hose, causing the hose to leak. The kind of hose to look for is called a preformed hose, shown in Figure 14-5, which is made with the proper bend already in it and no wire inside the rubber. Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn 2 t Figure 14-5: A preformed radiator hose. The hose should be squeezable — another reason that you don't want a top radiator hose with wire inside. This way, if you have problems with your cooling system, you can squeeze the hose to see whether the system is operating under pressure. A dangerously pressurized hose that's hard to squeeze warns you not to remove the radiator cap until the car cools down and the pressure is reduced. If it's a bottom radiator hose: The hose must have a wire coil inside it to Jaguar . Why does the car squeal when turning left?
